One day before the joint committee meeting, On 1st May at 8 pm for 30 minutes, switch off your lights and gather at the chowks, public parks, railway stations etc in your own city with candlelight and start singing national songs and shouting slogans like "Bharat Mata ki Jai", Vande Matram, Inquilab Zindabad and at At 8.30 pm, sing the national anthem and disperse.

The event will be hosted by a very well known Stand Up Comedian, who has represented India across the globe in more than 1000 shows : Papa CJ !
This date is chosen because we want to prove the government, a day before the joint committee meeting, that the youth are not in slumber & will tolerate no nonsense.
This is for the first time the youth have got along together in such high numbers.

...It has been more than two weeks since our first victory at Jantar Mantar and since then a lot of things have happened. The political parties have left no stone unturned to malign the image of the five nominees of the civil society but they have stood strong against all odds.
...The first meeting of the drafting committee on 16th April was an introductory meet and the actual drafting will start in the second meeting which is on 2nd May.
It is imperative that we show the politicos that the public is not sleeping and is observing the smear campaign against the civil society. We, the public, wants the Jan Lokpal to be passed soon and thus on 1st of May, 2011 we have planned a public gathering @ shaniwar wada ,Pune.
At the same time we will witness a Street-play Against Corruption. We will sing vande-mataram,National Anthem.And we will disperse.

Ordinary citizens are angry and have had enough of the smear campaign by corrupt politicians & the efforts to derail the Jan Lokpal Bill drafting process. They are trying to divide us by creating confusion. But they will not succeed.
We are organizing a protest & solidarity meet to warn the government that the people will not tolerate this. The Jan Lokpal Bill drafting process must go on with a positive attitude from the government.
